•General Electric
In the last three years, GEIQ has contributed to the design of next-generation turbine components for the civil aviation market, such as the GP 7200 engine for the Airbus A380 (the largest aircraft in the world) or the new GEnX turbine for the Boeing 787 "Dreamliner".
Mexican engineers are collaborating in the design of various components for the Leap-X and Tech-X turbines, reinforcing the competitiveness of our industry's clients by providing improvements in fuel consumption, lower maintenance costs and reduced NOx (pollution) and noise levels, in compliance with ever more stringent global restrictions.
•LABINAL
Labinal has two plants in the state of Chihuahua that focus on electrical systems (definition and design of electrical installations and electrical systems architecture) and the development of electrical technology. Because of the fruitful experience the company has had in its 20 years of operations in the country, it is planning to bring other service lines to Mexico.
•BOMBARDIER (Learjet 85)
Bombardier inaugurated its new facilities in the Queretaro Aerospace Park where the company manufactures the H-stab fuselage, wing assemblies and electrical harnesses for the Learjet 85. The project involves an investment of 255.9 million dollars and will create close to 1,105 direct jobs.
The Learjet 85 project is surrounded by technology innovation because, through the use of new compound materials to build structures, it will allow the creation of an aircraft that is totally different to the current Learjet models. The production of the first Learjet 85 (although still in the prototype stage) is an achievement for Mexico's aviation industry.
•HAWKER BEECHCRAFT
Hawker Beechcraft opened its second aircraft structure assembly and major sub-assembly plant in the state of Chihuahua, with a 108.2 million dollar investment and the creation of 600 new jobs.
The first plant, which opened in October 2007, required a 100 million dollar investment and created 380 jobs. This plant produces simple subsets of sheet metal assemblies and the flight control surfaces.
