- Nestlé Purina
- In December 2015, Nestlé Purina opened its second plant of pet food at Silao, Guanajuato. This new facility involves a 220 million dollar investment and the generation of 200 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs.
This plant will set an important export center to Central America, producing for the Pro-Plan, Dog Chow, Cat Chow and Beneful brands.
- In 2015, the American company Cargill opened an expansion of its pet food plant at Tehuacan, Puebla, requiring an investment of 7.8 million dollars.
- In August 2016, the company informed that it invested 700 million pesos for a new canning line and a distribution center at Guadalajara, Jalisco. The infrastructure incorporates state of the art technology in its automation systems, has a production capacity of 2,000 cans per minute and the ability to create 43 different presentations.
